Second Time Around

Sophie Marie

I set my sails, upon the sea, to find my love

That’s where I want to be

It's been so long, since I saw her face

I’ve got to find her, before I lose this race

Take me back to the sea, that’s where I want to be

Take me back to the sea, Sophie Marie

She waits for me, on a distant shore

Her eyes so  bright, a heart so pure

She calls to me, across the sea I roam

Her arms open wide, to welcome me home

Take me back to the sea, that’s where I want to be

Take me back to the sea, Sophie Marie

Bridge:

Waves come crashing across the bow

Sophie get me there somehow

Will this journey ever end?

Will our souls touch one again?

Take me back to the sea, that’s where I want to be

Take me back to the sea, Sophie Marie

Take me back to the sea, that’s where I want to be

Take me back to the sea, Sophie Marie

 Meme (Can You See Me)

On an autumn day, you sailed away

From the South of France, your heart set on romance

You were seventeen, when the man of your dreams

Came to take you away, to the U.S.A.

For forty years, you lived without fear

Then one day he was gone, to the world beyond…

Can you see me? Can you see me?

Can you see me Meme? Through love’s veiled eyes

This world’s a disguise, through all the lies…

Your love survives…

You took care of me, when I was too young to see

Taught me life’s hard way, showed me how to pray

On an autumn day, you passed away

To the meads above, to your eternal love…

Can you see me? Can you see me?

Can you see me Meme? Through love’s veiled eyes

This world’s a disguise, through all the lies…

Your love survives…

Can you see me Meme…

Can you see me Meme…

Can you see me Meme…

Middle Class Blues

Been so many years, since I’d seen her face
I’d forgotten how she looked my way
She was unhappy, they way her life turned out
I said I’d listen if that would help out

She didn’t love her man, they way that she should
Her kids were growing up and taking her time
She had the house, the cars and all of those things
But it didn’t fill the void where her loneliness sings

Chorus:
Baby I’m sorry that your feeling that way
Cause I’ve been under cover, I don’t need a lover
You’re not part of me today

There was a time you know, I really loved you so
You were all I had on my mind
You said you felt the same, just wait and see
Then you turned around and walked out on me

Now here you come into my life again
Unhappy with your middle class blues
You’ve got the pools, the clubs, professional friends
But, your bored with following all of the trends

Chorus: repeat
 Bridge:
All those nights we spent together
I could never change your mind
Now your trapped inside this nightmare
I don’t mean to be unkind

Cause I’ve been under cover
I don’t need a lover
You’re not part of me today

Been so many years since I’d seen her face
I’d forgotten how she looked my way…

Your World is Coming Down

Your world is coming down, loud around your ears

Your running all around town, with your eyes full of tears

You got no consolation, with a six pack in each hand

Your feeling like a stranger, in your native land

You see all this misery, as your walking down the street

Where are all the winners in the midst of this defeat?

Take those filthy needles brothers, out of your veins,

Can’t be any good, cause it’s causing so much pain

Chorus:
The Creator, sent teachers to teach us

And She told them, what to say

Better take care, of your brother’s and sister’s

It’s time to find a better way, get ready for a brand-new day

Well I see young brothers and sisters on that dope smokin’ chain

And their swearin’ up and down, that it don’t affect their brains

Look at the people who abuse their alcohol, just because it’s legal doesn’t mean  its safe at all

Everyone want peace but we fightin’ with each other

How can you love your neighbor when you just can’t stand your brother?

Look at all the people, who are desperate in need,

We need a whole lot more compassion, cause there’s far far too much greed

Chorus:

I say, smile on your sister, smile on your brother, stop all this fightin’

And just take care of one another, take care of one another, take care of one another

Leave Your Hate Behind

It’s a long and winding road, from the darkness to the light

Seeing is believing, like a blind man getting his sight

The journey never ends, till they put you in your grave

Some of us get dammed, and some of us get saved

Chorus:

But I believe, that none of us can make it on our own

It’s time to come together not a part, so just leave your hate behind

There’s a black dove in the east, a white dove in the west

If they want to live together, first they’ll have to build a nest

Truth soars in the heavens, while lies fall on the dust

If peace is going to come, first it’s got start with us

Chorus:

Refrain:

So, you want to kill your brother? well you cuttin’ off your own hand

The earth is but one country, humanity’s the land

Chorus:

But I believe that none of us can make it on our own

It’s time to come together not a part, so just leave your hate behind

Sitting in the Dark

I’ve been sitting, in the dark all alone

I was wondering, if you were going to come home

I’ve thinking, about how we used to be

How you were gonna, put an end to me

I’ve been riding, in my car all over town

Been thinking, if I should track you down

If I found you, well what would I do?

Sometimes it better, not to know what’s true

Been trying, to hold back my tears

Realizing, my worst fears

You’ve been lying and cheating all along

Had me thinking, I had done you wrong

Been sitting, in the dark all alone

Lonely Just Got Harder

Lonely just got harder, then where it ought to be

Since the day you left me, it’s been nothing but misery

Wish that I could have told you, how much I wanted you to stay

But I came home from work one night, you had packed and moved away

Didn’t leave a letter, didn’t leave a note

The house is cold and empty, that’s all she wrote

Didn’t take the TV, didn’t take the bed

Didn’t take these memories, that you left inside of my head

Chorus:

So, I’m staring at your picture, waitin’ by the phone

Readin’ old love letters, spendin’ my, my nights alone

Cause I just can’t believe, you’re not comin’ back to me

It’s wearin’ me down, startin’ to give up hope

My best friend he told me, you’re not comin’ back

Say’s I’m better off without you, but I don’t see it like that

He never held you in his arms, never had a love like this

Never felt your gentle touch, or kissed your tender lips

Chorus:

Lonely just got harder, as my teardrops hit the ground

You know I’m almost crazy, cause you’re not around

I wish that God would take this pain and give me a reprieve

Cause lonely just got harder, lonely just got harder, lonely just got harder,

Then where it ought to be…lonely just got harder, lonely just got harder…

Second Time Around

I still see her playing’
With her puppies on the lawn
I can’t help believing’
That she’s really gone

I still see the magic
The laughter in her eyes
The times we spent together
I didn’t realize

That one day she’d be leaving
She was heading out of town
She’ll never be forgotten
As long as I’m around

We traveled down the highway
Through the laughter and the tears
Things that friends are made of
That last beyond the years

She got onto a battle
I could see how hard she fought
She never really gave up
That really meant a lot

She knew that she was leaving
She was heading out of town
She’ll never be forgotten
As long as I’m around

Been a long time since her passing
No one left to hear my songs
I keep on singing anyway
She always sings along

Someday I will be leaving
I’ll be heading out of town
I know that she’s there waiting
For the second time around

Can You Wait Til Forever

Well she told me; I was the best thing that she ever had

And I believed her, cause’ it was the right thing to do

We were in love, seems like only yesterday

Now my hair has turned to gray and I take long walks in the park

With my memories of you

The sky above, looks alright to me and

Father time, has led me on his way

Oh, but love, love you were so hard on me

Oh, why? Why wouldn’t you just let me be?

If you were going to take her away from me…

I sleep alone, in my bed these days

And I feel you near me, every time I close my eyes

So, I’ll be coming, coming to be with you one night

But, I’ve got to wait ‘til the time is right

When the full moon’s up and the stars are bright

I’ll be coming home to you, to you one night, forever

Can you wait ‘til forever? Can you wait ‘til forever…?

Can you wait ‘til’ forever? Can you wait ‘til forever…?

Take a Good Look

Clouds go gently rolling by as I watch outside my window

Should I give love another try, she says “Yes I think so”

Spent to many years alone, passing through the seasons

She wants my heart and soul, but she’s not ready to leave him

Chorus:

So, take a good look, take a good look baby

Say that you are mine, but I’m running out of time

Take a good look, take a good look baby

Hearts are gonna break, cause you know my heart, can’t wait

It just can’t wait

Conversation starts to drag as the night blends into day

If it’s really me that you want there’s a price you’ve got to pay

We were both out looking for love, when we first met

Let’s not make a fatal mistake that we’re both gonna regret

Chorus:

Refrain:

I can’t keep holding on while you go home to him

You’re gonna have to choose and put it to an end

Chorus:

I just can’t wait, you got me hangin’ on the line

Make up your mind, I can’t wait forever

When Did It Leave

Time has taken us down these separate roads

With the past behind us, I just want to know

If we’ll be together baby and what can I do?

It was so hard to say that first, that first “I love you”

We were so much in love that we couldn’t see each other

But time has a way of making one’s vision clearer

We talk about mistakes we’ve made

But what about the one’s we’re making now, making now?

When did it leave, when did your love stop growing

Where did it go?

When did, your love stop showing my way, my way baby?

I say that I love you, then you turn and walk away

You tell me how you want to leave me, how hard it is for you to stay,

We’re both holding back, we both have so much to give

Is this any way for people like us to live?

When did it leave, when did your love stop growing

Where did it go?

When did, your love stop showing my way, my way baby?

Ooo baby yeah… Ooo baby yeah… Ooo baby yeah…

Dark Horse Rising

There's a dark horse rising

Better get out of the way

There's a dark horse rising

Get ready for the judgement day

There's a dark horse rising

Better get out of town

There's a dark horse rising

Coming to track you down

Chorus:
It’s a mystery, it's true

Nothing anyone can do

Been living in the back of your mind

An image, that's so hard to define

There's a dark horse rising

Prayin’ ain't no good at all

There's a dark horse rising

Getting’ ready to build a wall

There’s a dark horse rising
Get ready for the bombs to fall
There’s a dark horse rising
It’s gonna be the end of us all

Chorus:
It’s a mystery, it's true

Nothing anyone can do

Been living in the back of your mind

An image, that's so hard to define

Twenty Years and Two Thousand Miles

Do You Think

Do you think, that you’ll ever
Get yourself straightened out
Will you ever be happy
Running away all the time
Well, you say, that you’re lonely
I’ve got nothing to hide
You come around to see me
It breaks me all up inside, breaks me all up inside

Oh, oh, I’m not gonna cry
Would you please, not come around here my friend
Write me a letter, if you’ve got something to say
Cause I don’t want you messing up
Any more of my days

Don’t say you are sorry
For the things that you’ve done
When I told you that I loved you
You turned away and run
So listen, my friend
Your never gonna be a part of me again
So take your evil self and roam
I’m better of living’ alone, said I’m better off living alone

Oh, oh, I’m not gonna cry
Would you please, not come around here my friend
Write me a letter, if you’ve got something to say
Cause I don’t want you messing up
Any more of my days

So listen, my friend
Your never gonna be a part of me again
So take your evil self and roam
I’m better of living’ alone, said I’m better off living alone
Said I’m better off, better off, better off living alone
…Oh, Oh, I’m not gonna cry…

Never Leave California

I ain’t ever gonna leave California
No matter what some people may say
I ain’t ever gonna leave California
Gonna stay here til’ my ashes blow away
Over Monterey Bay
Over Monterey Bay

We got rivers to the sea
fresh air for you and me
Mountains that touch the sky
Sunset’s that’ll make you cry
Beaches for everyone
A bit a rain and lots of Sun

I ain’t ever gonna leave California
No matter what some people may say
I ain’t ever gonna leave California
Gonna stay here til’ my ashes blow away
Over Monterey Bay
Over Monterey Bay

People outside may say we’re lazy
We work hard at having fun
All the colors of the Rainbow
Living together here as one

I ain’t ever gonna leave California
No matter what some people may say
I ain’t ever gonna leave California
Gonna stay here til’ my ashes blow away
Over Monterey Bay
Over Monterey Bay

I ain’t ever gonna leave California
I ain’t ever gonna leave California
I ain’t ever gonna leave California

Anger of the Fallen

Nobody would help him
As George called momma’s name
Nobody Would help him
We turn our heads in shame

Bystander’s film the horror
For all the world to see
No one lifts a hand
When he cries “I cannot breathe”

Everyone is angry
We all share in the blame
Watching through the windows
The world goes up in flame

Nobody would help her
When thugs broke down the door
Nobody would help her
Breonna bleeding on the floor

Thoughts and prayers are with you
The choir sings the phrase
The anger of the fallen
Rage beyond the grave

Presidents are silent
Senators are grim
Nobody ever told them
Slavery’s a sin
Nobody ever told them
Slavery’s a sin
Nobody ever told them
Slavery’s a sin

Scarred

Seems like a long time ago
Do you remember when
Do you know where you’ve been
Do you know where you’re going
The last thought on your mind
Love is so hard to find
You feel so lonely, you think that your life is over

You’ve been looking for Truth
But you always go round it
Looking for Peace
But you just haven’t found it
Looking for Love
I can see it in your eyes
You’ve been burned by the Sun
You’ve scarred, by the lies
By the lies yeah

Wipe those tears from your eyes
Things are not that bad
You could be digging for Gold
On a mountain in California
Say you want to be free, you don’t know what to be
Like the birds in the sky, you’ve got to find some direction

You’ve been looking for Truth
But you always go round it
Looking for Peace
But you just haven’t found it
Looking for Love
I can see it in your eyes
You’ve been burned by the Sun
You’ve scarred
Scarred
Scarred
By the lies
By the lies yeah

Twenty Years and Two Thousand Miles

Twenty years and two thousand miles ago
Who’d a thought we’d be here
Fighting battles we should’ve won
Leaving behind all those tears

Twenty years and two thousand miles ago
I loved you more than you’d ever know
If I failed to make that clear
I want you to know while I’m still here

I was drowning in a sea of pain
You reached in and pulled me through
Never knew if I’d live again
But your faith made me new

Twenty years and two thousand miles ago
Who’d a thought we’d be here
Living with an ocean view
After all that we’ve been through
Want you to know
Still I love you
Want you to know
Still I love you
Want you to know
Still I love you

Finally

Out on my own again, I’m all alone again
Since you left me, I’ve just got to try
Try to make it, you know I can’t fake it
Cause I’m still, still in love with you
Now that it’s over
Can I get over you

Only time will tell, what the future will bring
You and I, used to laugh and sing
Then the fires died, the warmth was gone
You went your way and I was left to mine
Now that it’s over
Can I get over you

Time after time, the same old scene
Night after night, the same old dream
Me into you, you into me
Never gonna be…reality

The night is still, your passing through my mind
Think about all the times we had
You know that I’m not sad, cause I had you a while
That was many years ago
Now that it’s over
I’m finally over you
Now that it’s over
I’m finally over you
Over you,
Over you,
Over you, finally over you

Cherita

Cherita, Cherita treated me so kind
Cherita, made it seem the world was mine
She took me, deep inside her lonely soul
I stayed there, long enough for me to know

That now I live without the peace I should have had
Knowing that our love is neither, good nor bad
Somehow it’s never the same, after the rain
When you’re feeling pain, in your heart
It can tear you apart, it can tear you apart

Cherita, was the sunshine on my cloudy days
Cherita, oh she chased my blues away
Then she vanished, like a ship fighting stormy seas
I lost her, where the palm trees meet ocean breeze

So now I live without the peace I should have had
Knowing that our love is neither, good nor bad
Somehow it’s never the same, after the rain
When you’re feeling pain, in your heart
It can tear you apart, it can tear you apart

Cherita, Oh Cherita, where are you right now…

I Can’t Stop

I’ve searching for some answers, for so long
I’ve been trying to find a way, to right this wrong
Cause you and me baby, know it’s not right
For us to carry on, with no end in sight

I can’t stop, falling in love with you
I can’t stop, falling in love with you
And I don’t think that I really want to try
I just couldn’t stand to say, goodbye
Or to see you cry

You say you want to leave me, but is that how you feel
Are you trying to deceive me, is your love for real
Cause you and me baby, got to give it a name
Someone’s going to get hurt, if we’re just playing some game

But, I can’t stop, falling in love with you
I can’t stop, falling in love with you
And I don’t think that I really want to try
I just couldn’t stand to say, goodbye
Or to see you cry

I can’t stop, falling in love with you
I can’t stop, falling in love with you
And I don’t think that I really want to try
I just couldn’t stand to say, goodbye
Or to see you cry

I can’t stop, I can’t stop
I can’t stop, baby, baby,
I can’t stop

You Won’t

The next time that you want me, I won’t be around
The next time that you need me, I won’t be your clown
Life can be so crazy, trying to play your game
As so often happens, I don’t feel the same, anymore

You won’t see me, Trying to make you smile
You won’t see me, going the extra mile
You won’t see me, acting like your fool
Your out of sight and almost out of my mind

The next time that you call me, I won’t answer the phone
If you try to come by, I won’t be at home
Said there were no others, I know that’s not true
I saw you alone, making eyes with someone new

You won’t see me, Trying to make you smile
You won’t see me, going the extra mile
You won’t see me, acting like your fool
Your out of sight and almost out of my mind

You won’t see me, Trying to make you smile
You won’t see me, going the extra mile
You won’t see me, acting like your fool
Your out of sight and almost out of my mind

You won’t see me, no
You won’t see me no
You won’t see me no

Unity 16_23

We don’t need any more hate among us
Cause all us people, live in the same place
We are all members, of the Human Race
Brothers and Sisters, take each other hand
Black and White and Red and Yellow
We are all the flowers of the land
Just give ourselves a chance grow

Today, we should be happy, cause I see here
The gathering of the races, the unity of the races
The gathering of the races, the unity of the races
The gathering of the races, the unity of the races

(Spoken Word) "Red Mitch"

Where the love is nonexistent, I’m about my Father’s business
But, partner I’m not religious
The world’s a melting pot, full of different colors and races
Love is the language she’s screaming, but nobody’s there to listen…to her Voice
When she speaks we get annoyed, her direction we just avoid
Now all our joy has been destroyed. For years it’s been ignored
That is something we should explore and look into
It’s beneficial moving forward. In our lifetime, I love my brother, I let my light shine
Like stars in the night sky, I pray that you do likewise, we’re all one working together is the answer. Our faults we should examine, find the problem root it out and righteousness
we need to channel or a change won’t come, it’s the same old stuff
Break the chains go run, Freedom’s on the horizon, it’s time to wake on up
Captivity is liberated, take those off your wrist and ankles. Hatred we need to strangle
Compassion is a replacement for this wickedness invading all our hearts.
If we don’t unify, we fall apart. We can persevere, out this modern Holocaust and rise…It's time to rise...

The gathering of the races, the unity of the races
The gathering of the races, the unity of the races
The gathering of the races, the unity of the races
The gathering of the races, the unity of the races…
